SaltLight Solutions Inc. offers SaltLight, a follow-up assistant for churches. It works by text message. The service is in beta. This page says what information we handle, why we have it, and who helps us.
What we collect, and why
We keep a few details about your church and your leaders so the assistant can text you and keep the account straight.
- Name, email, and mobile number
- Church name, time zone, and plan
- The messages leaders send SaltLight
Guest details are your church's information. They are what is on the connect card, and the messages that follow.
- Name and phone number
- Children's names and ages, when a family puts them on the card
- Interests and prayer requests
- The messages between leaders and guests
A leader texts SaltLight a photo of a paper connect card, a name and number, a question, or a change. Digital connect cards from Planning Center or Rock come in on their own, once your church has connected them.
How we use it
We use this information to do the follow-up your leaders ask for.
SaltLight drafts a first text in the leader's voice. A leader approves it, writes their own (starting with @), or asks SaltLight to send it. SaltLight never texts a guest on its own.
We remind leaders. If a new guest never gets a first text, we alert the backup partner your church chose. When a leader asks, SaltLight can update Planning Center or Rock. That update is in beta.
We also use leader details to run the account: the plan, the messages leaders send us, and billing.
Who helps us
Other companies handle pieces of the work.
- Amazon Web Services stores the data. It is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Twilio carries the text messages.
- Stripe handles payments. SaltLight does not store card numbers.
- HighLevel handles website forms, account setup, and the website chat.
- An AI provider helps SaltLight read cards, draft and summarize messages, and answer questions.
- Planning Center and Rock connect only when your church authorizes them. In Planning Center, a leader approves the connection. In Rock, your church's admin sets it up. SaltLight never logs in as the leader, and never needs their password.
Text messages
SaltLight's texts are registered with US carriers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to stop. Reply HELP for help.
Leaders give consent to receive texts from SaltLight at signup. Your church is responsible for having permission to text the guests you add, as with any church texting.
Each guest conversation uses its own number. Guests never see a leader's personal number, or SaltLight's notes to the leader.
What we never do
SaltLight never sells data. SaltLight never uses it to train AI. SaltLight never texts a guest on its own.
How long we keep it
We keep a church's information while that church's account is open.
To delete a church's information, or one person's information, email hello@saltlight.io and ask.
If a church leaves, the guests SaltLight added to the church's own database stay there.
Children
SaltLight is not directed to children under 13. A child's name can appear only as part of a family's connect card that the church controls.
Security
You decide what goes out to a guest. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest on Amazon Web Services. A plain account of how we protect a church is on our security page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page. When we do, we change the date at the top.
